I recently made some home-made grenadine and have been searching for something to make with it. I found a variety of recipes online, most of which used raspberry syrup instead of grenadine. But it seems that it was originally made with grenadine, so I gave it a shot.
I have to say I was a little scared to try this, given the raw egg white in it. I have never tried a cocktail with egg white and it honestly sounded kind of gross. However, I would recommend it. It changes the entire texture of the drink and smoothes out the gin. Just remember to shake without ice once and then shake with ice for the second time around.
Recipe
1.5 oz gin (I used Bombay Sapphire)
1 oz grenadine
.75 oz fresh lemon juice
1 egg white
Double-strain and serve up in a coupe glass
